In a significant step towards localisation and catering to India’s rising demand for smart security solutions, Honeywell has unveiled its first-ever range of CCTV cameras proudly "Made in India." This new line of cameras has been meticulously designed, engineered, and manufactured entirely within the country, marking a milestone in Honeywell's commitment to the Indian market.
Honeywell has introduced its first fully designed and manufactured CCTV camera series developed in India. The camera range is a result of collaboration between Honeywell’s global development centre based in Bengaluru and Indian EMS provider VVDN Technologies. VVDN also contributed to the hardware design, supporting Honeywell’s focus on leveraging local talent and production infrastructure.
The launch marks a strategic step in reinforcing India’s position as a hub for high-quality technology products, with emphasis on security, innovation, and manufacturing self-reliance.
The newly launched 50 Series cameras offer models in both 3MP and 5MP resolutions. These are available in dome and bullet configurations to accommodate various surveillance requirements.
Key attributes include intelligent video analytics for real-time threat monitoring, gyro sensor-based image stabilisation for enhanced clarity, and cybersecurity protections to meet the rigorous demands of critical sectors. The cameras are aimed at sectors such as government, education, transport, commercial, healthcare, and real estate.
Vimal Kapur, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell, met with Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting, to discuss the significance of the launch. The event underscored the government’s support for initiatives aligned with ‘Design in India’ and ‘Make for the World’.
Minister Vaishnaw highlighted the importance of transforming India into a product-driven economy, affirming the government's encouragement for tech companies to anchor their R&D and production in the country.
The CCTV camera launch complements Honeywell’s recent acquisition of Carrier’s Global Access Solutions business, which included the renowned LenelS2 brand. The addition of the 50 Series enhances Honeywell’s position as a comprehensive OEM in the electronic security space.
This strategic expansion enables Honeywell to deliver integrated solutions across global and domestic markets, responding effectively to the rising demand for intelligent and secure surveillance systems.
