In a big boost to Indian table tennis, Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) has signed a 3 year broadcast partnership with JioStar, locking in exclusive TV and digital streaming rights through 2027. The deal aims to make the sport more accessible to fans nationwide and grow its popularity across diverse regions and languages.
Starting with Season 6, matches will be aired on Star Sports 2 (opening day), Star Sports Khel, and Star Sports Tamil. For digital viewers, streaming will be available on JioHotstar in English, Hindi, and Tamil a move designed to break regional barriers and attract a wider audience.
Sanctioned by the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has steadily grown since its inception. In fact, viewership for the 2024 season reached 20 million, marking a 30% jump over the previous year. With JioStar now on board, the league aims to expand its digital footprint and reach untapped audiences across India.
“UTT’s goal has always been to nurture Indian talent through a world-class platform,” said co-promoters Dani and Bajaj as per news reports. “This partnership helps us take that mission further by connecting with more fans and deepening the sport’s grassroots impact.”
In the lead-up to the tournament, UTT and JioStar will kick off promotional content from May 12, giving fans a closer look at players, teams, and behind-the-scenes action. This initiative is aimed at boosting engagement and building excitement ahead of the tournament’s launch.
