Today is Monday, 12 May 2025, and many across India are celebrating Buddha Purnima, a significant religious festival. Given the occasion, some traders and investors may be wondering if the stock market is closed today. The answer is — no, the stock markets are open for trading today.
According to the official list of stock market holidays 2025 published by both BSE and NSE, Buddha Purnima is not a trading holiday this year. Investors can confirm this by visiting the BSE website and checking the Trading Holidays section, where all market holidays for the year are listed. So, trading on both BSE and NSE is taking place as usual on 12 May 2025.
