Hero MotoCorp’s EV division, Vida, has launched a new electric scooter, Vida VX2. It is available in two variants: VX2 Go and VX2 Plus. As per the reports, this is the brand’s most affordable offering so far. The company has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option for the first time.
Under the BaaS model, customers pay only for the vehicle and lease the battery separately. This brings the starting price down to ₹59,490 for the Go variant and ₹64,990 for the Plus. The full-ownership price is ₹99,490 (Go) and ₹1,09,990 (Plus), both ex-showroom.
The VX2 Go comes with a single 2.2kWh battery offering a claimed range of 92 km and a top speed of 70 kmph. The Plus variant has dual batteries totalling 3.4kWh, offering 142 km range and 80 kmph top speed. Fast charging to 80% takes 60 minutes. Full charging via standard charger takes 3 hours 53 minutes (Go) and 5 hours 39 minutes (Plus).
Both scooters come with removable batteries and 12-inch wheels. The VX2 Go offers 33.2 litres of underseat storage, while the Plus has 27.2 litres. The scooters also have a front-mounted frunk. The design is similar to other Vida models, with seven colour options, including exclusive ones for the Plus.
