On June 26, 2025, HDFC Bank share price crossed ₹2,000 for the first time, hitting a record intraday high of ₹2,027.40 before closing at ₹2,023, up 2.16% from the previous day.
This jump was mainly due to the strong response to the ₹12,500 crore IPO of HDB Financial Services, which was fully subscribed on day two.

Thanks to the rally, HDFC Bank’s market capitalisation rose to over ₹15.51 lakh crore, making it India’s second most valuable company, right behind Reliance Industries, which has an m-cap of ₹20.23 lakh crore.
The surge in HDFC Bank’s shares improved the mood across banking stocks.
The Bank Nifty index touched a new all-time high of 57,263.45 during trading hours and finally closed at 57,206.70, ending the day positive.
