The central government has approved an electronics manufacturing cluster (EMC 2.0) in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. The total project cost is ₹417 crore. As per the press release, it will be developed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The cluster is expected to attract around ₹2,500 crore in investment from companies in the sector.

Manufacturing Segments

The cluster will focus on several electronics segments. These include consumer electronics, automotive and industrial electronics, medical devices, computer hardware, and communication equipment. It is aimed at supporting both large manufacturers and smaller enterprises.

The site will offer ready-to-use infrastructure such as standard factory sheds, power and water supply, sewage systems, and common facilities. Provisions also include hostels, health centres, and training centres. These are planned to reduce the initial setup costs for new entrants.

Location and Connectivity

The cluster will be situated near key highways including the Yamuna Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and the upcoming Palwal-Khurja Expressway. It is also close to the Jewar International Airport and a railway station. Nearby industrial zones include the Medical Device Park and Apparel Park.
