Gentari and Shell India have entered into a partnership that allows mutual access to their electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. "Effective July 10, Shell Recharge charging points will be accessible through the Gentari Go app, and Gentari chargers will be available to Shell Recharge users, giving them access to a network of more than 450 chargers," Gentari said in a statement.

The roaming feature covers a combined network of over 450 charging points across India. This includes chargers installed by both Gentari and Shell India, aimed at increasing reach without setting up new infrastructure.

Gentari’s Existing Network

Gentari Go currently offers access to more than 5,000 chargers across India, Malaysia, and Thailand. Out of these, over 3,000 are located in India. With Shell Recharge’s addition, this number will grow further, especially in urban centres.

The partnership focuses on improving access in the western and southern parts of the country. These areas have a higher concentration of EVs and an increasing demand for public charging facilities.

Integration with Apps

Both Shell and Gentari users can find and use each other’s chargers through their respective apps. The chargers being integrated are already operational and compatible with various EV models.

Shell’s chargers included in the deal are located at its fuel stations. These locations typically offer standard retail services such as food and beverages, though no new features are being introduced as part of this arrangement.
