GAIL (India) Limited, a leading natural gas company, has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended March 31, 2025.

Post the announcement, on May 14, 2025, GAIL share price opened at ₹185.00, up from its previous close of ₹183.83. At 9:51 AM, the share price of GAIL was trading at ₹185.89, up by 1.12% on the NSE.

Financial Performance: Full-Year FY25 vs FY24

For FY25, GAIL reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹1,42,291 crore, up from ₹1,33,500 crore in FY24. EBITDA increased to ₹20,643 crore, compared to ₹16,986 crore in the previous year. Profit Before Tax (PBT) rose to ₹16,096 crore from ₹12,595 crore, while Profit After Tax (PAT) surged to ₹12,450 crore from ₹9,899 crore in FY24.

On a standalone basis, the company reported revenue from operations of ₹1,37,288 crore in FY25 versus ₹1,30,638 crore in FY24. EBITDA grew from ₹15,583 crore to ₹19,168 crore, and PAT rose sharply to ₹11,312 crore from ₹8,836 crore last year.

Q4 FY25 Performance vs Q3 FY25

In Q4 FY25, GAIL’s consolidated revenue stood at ₹36,551 crore, slightly down from ₹36,937 crore in Q3 FY25. EBITDA dropped to ₹4,207 crore from ₹6,381 crore, while PAT decreased to ₹2,492 crore from ₹4,082 crore in the previous quarter. On a standalone level, the company posted Q4 revenues of ₹35,707 crore, EBITDA of ₹3,783 crore, and PAT of ₹2,049 crore.

Operational Highlights

GAIL saw improved performance in its core operations during FY25. Natural gas transmission volumes rose by 6% to 127.32 MMSCMD from 120.46 MMSCMD in FY24. Gas marketing volumes increased to 101.49 MMSCMD, while polymer production rose 6% YoY to 827 TMT. Although LHC production declined slightly to 947 TMT, polymer sales grew in Q4 to 229 TMT.

During Q4 FY25, gas marketing volumes improved to 106.53 MMSCMD from 103.46 MMSCMD in Q3, while transmission volumes saw a dip to 120.83 MMSCMD from 125.93 MMSCMD. LHC sales dropped to 198 TMT, but polymer sales rose by 4% quarter-on-quarter.

Final Dividend and Capex

The Board of Directors recommended a final dividend of ₹1 per equity share (face value ₹10) for FY25, in addition to the interim dividend of ₹6.50 per share already paid. This takes the total dividend payout ratio to 43.59% for the year. The company also reported capital expenditure of ₹10,512 crore in FY25.

Strategic Move: GAIL Gas Limited Consolidation

GAIL announced a strategic initiative to consolidate its City Gas Distribution (CGD) business by transferring six Geographical Areas (GAs), Varanasi, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bhubaneshwar, and Cuttack, to its wholly owned subsidiary GAIL Gas Limited (GGL), pending approval from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA). GGL currently operates 16 GAs and will become the single entity handling GAIL’s CGD operations for improved efficiency and focus.
