India may soon welcome its first-ever Disneyland near Manesar in Gurgaon, with the Haryana government actively engaging Disney officials and allocating 500 acres for this transformative project. Positioned close to the KMP Expressway, this ambitious amusement park is expected to significantly uplift tourism and generate jobs in the region, as per Times of India report.
The Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that preliminary discussions are ongoing with Disney to establish India’s first Disneyland-style amusement park near Pachgaon Chowk, Manesar. Spread across 500 acres, the project aims to capitalise on Gurgaon’s strong infrastructure and connectivity to the National Capital Region (NCR).
The proposed site’s proximity to the KMP Expressway and Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) makes it highly accessible to millions of visitors.
The theme park will be located near key transit hubs, including Dwarka Expressway, Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and the upcoming Global City project, which spans 1,000 acres. This smart township will support walk-to-work modules, connecting Disneyland with residential, commercial and retail zones. The integration of high-speed mobility networks places this park within easy reach of both domestic and international tourists, amplifying its appeal.
The Haryana government sees the park as a major economic catalyst. According to the CM, the project will produce thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities. From hospitality to logistics, local businesses are expected to benefit from the ripple effects as tourists flock to the area. Real estate, hotel chains and retail are anticipated to grow exponentially with the park’s development.

Alongside the theme park, plans are in motion to enhance Haryana’s cultural scene. The International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra could be expanded, while the famous Surajkund Mela may be hosted up to thrice a year, further advancing Haryana’s appeal as a tourist destination. A Diwali festival and a book fair at Surajkund are also being considered to promote cultural tourism through national and international collaborations.
This isn't the first time a Disneyland project has been considered. In 1989, then CM Om Prakash Chautala proposed bringing Disneyland to Gurgaon, but the attempt failed due to political opposition and resistance from local landowners. Over three decades later, the vision is being revived with more concrete development plans and evolved stakeholder alignments.
The planned Disneyland-style park near Manesar could redefine India’s amusement and tourism sector. With strategic location advantages, robust infrastructure and job creation potential, the initiative marks a significant step for Haryana’s economic and entertainment future.
