The Ministry of Defence has released an important tax-related update for defence pensioners receiving pensions through the SPARSH system. This development pertains to income and TDS records for FY 2024-25 and the availability of income tax forms through online platforms.
Defence pensioners who use the SPARSH platform can now access their income and TDS details for the financial year 2024-25. These records have been uploaded to the TRACES portal and are reflected in Form 26AS.
The SPARSH website confirms that these entries are now accessible via the income tax e-filing portal. Pensioners can view this information by navigating to the “View Tax Credit (Form 26AS)” section after logging into their account. The Ministry also stated that Form 16 will be made available shortly on the SPARSH portal for download.
SPARSH (System of Pension Administration, Raksha) is a digital platform created by the Ministry of Defence to provide pension-related services to defence pensioners. It serves members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and defence civilian staff.
