The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has launched a modernised digital platform aimed at enhancing user convenience and speeding up healthcare delivery. With PAN-linked ID, auto payment checks, online approvals, and a mobile app, beneficiaries get quicker services with less paperwork.
Under the new system, every CGHS beneficiary will receive a PAN-linked unique ID. This measure eliminates multiple document verifications and improves entitlement assessments. By aligning with PAN, authorities can accurately verify identities, ensuring a seamless healthcare experience for eligible individuals.
All contribution payments to CGHS must now be done through its revitalised website at www.cghs.mohfw.gov.in. Linked with Bharat Kosh and Public Financial Management System (PFMS), this feature offers automatic payment verification, effectively eliminating manual input errors and delays. This integration ensures fast, transparent financial processing across the platform.
Post system upgrade, all existing users are required to reset their passwords during their first login. This security measure strengthens data access protocols, boosting user confidence in the privacy and safety of their healthcare information stored online.
Beneficiaries in need of oxygen concentrators, CPAP, or BiPAP machines can now request approvals via the digital portal. Previously, pensioners had to apply offline, resulting in delays of up to 45 days. The new online procedure ensures faster approvals and reduces the burden of renting expensive devices not covered under reimbursement.

One of the key upgrades includes automated notifications sent to users through SMS and email. Every step of an application or payment processed now generates an alert, keeping beneficiaries informed about their healthcare services from submission to final approval.
The launch of the myCGHS 2.0 mobile app brings healthcare accessibility right into beneficiaries’ palms. Available on the Google Play Store, the app allows real-time tracking of requests, review of entitlements, and digital resource access. Users can now manage card transfers, add dependents, and change card types from the comfort of their mobile screens.
New features also include instant acknowledgements, online card-related services, and access to a digital helpdesk. User manuals and self-help guides uploaded on the official website and app improve clarity for navigating the system. These updates ensure a smoother experience for central government employees, pensioners, and their families.
