Ashok Leyland announced that its Board of Directors has approved a Second Interim Dividend of ₹4.25 per equity share of face value ₹1/- for the financial year ended March 31, 2025.
Including this latest announcement, Ashok Leyland has declared a total interim dividend of ₹6.25 per share for FY25, translating to a 625% payout on the face value of ₹1.
The company has fixed Thursday, May 22, 2025, as the record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders for the Second Interim Dividend. The dividend will be credited or dispatched to eligible shareholders on or before June 14, 2025.
Ashok Leyland reported a 7% year-on-year (YoY) decline in domestic vehicle sales for April 2025, with total units sold falling to 12,509 from 13,446 in April 2024. The drop was led by a 10% fall in Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) truck sales, which stood at 5,915 units, and a 28% decline in M&HCV bus sales at 1,491 units. However, the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment showed resilience, registering a 6% growth with 5,103 units sold, compared to 4,835 in the same period last year.
In terms of total sales (domestic + exports), the company sold 13,421 units in April 2025, down 6% from 14,271 units in April 2024. M&HCV trucks declined by 9% YoY to 6,119 units, while M&HCV bus sales dipped 22% to 1,841 units. The LCV segment again outperformed, growing 6% YoY to 5,461 units.
On May 16, 2025, Ashok Leyland share price (NSE: ASHOKLEY) opened at ₹240.00 and closed at ₹237.26, down by 0.88%. The stock price touched its day’s low at ₹236.57.

Ashok Leyland had earlier declared an interim dividend of ₹2.00 per share, with the record date set as November 19, 2024.
