Delhi has crossed over 10 million Ayushman Bharat Health Account registrations, marking a shift towards digital health record management.
Government data shows increasing adoption of ABHA numbers and Ayushman Bharat cards, improving structured healthcare access for residents.
Delhi currently has over 10.1 million ABHA numbers created under the Ayushman Bharat ecosystem.
Since the scheme rollout in February 2025, more than 7,00,000 eligible beneficiaries have received Ayushman Bharat health cards. The figures indicate expanding participation in digital health record systems across the capital.
The ABHA number acts as a digital health identity, linking prescriptions, diagnostic reports, hospital records, and medical history on a single platform.
An ABHA number can be created by any citizen. It enables healthcare providers to access patient treatment history during consultations or emergencies.
This reduces repeated diagnostic tests, avoids documentation gaps, and may lower out of pocket healthcare expenses caused by duplication of procedures.
Unlike insurance coverage, the ABHA number primarily functions as a digital repository of medical data.
The ABHA number is available to all citizens and stores digital medical records. The Ayushman Bharat card provides insurance cover of up to ₹5 lakh annually for eligible families.
Families below the poverty line and citizens aged above 70 years qualify under the insurance scheme.
More than 2,70,000 Ayushman cards issued in Delhi belong to senior citizens.

For implementation, 208 hospitals have been empanelled in Delhi, including 156 private hospitals and 53 government facilities. This allows beneficiaries to access cashless treatment under the scheme.
Nearly 29,120 beneficiaries have received treatment under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana through the State Health Agency in Delhi.
District level data shows 1.33 million registrations in West Delhi, 1.2 million in North West Delhi, 1.16 million in South West Delhi, and 1.11 million in South Delhi. Each of these districts has crossed the 1 million registration mark.
With 10.1 million ABHA numbers and expanding insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh, Delhi’s digital health ecosystem reflects wider integration of medical records and government-backed healthcare access for residents.
