Are you trying to check your EPFO passbook on the UMANG App and finding that it won’t load or open? You’re not alone. Many users face this issue and wonder why the EPF passbook option doesn’t work as expected. In this article, we’ll explore the common reasons behind this problem and what you can do about it.
Lately, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has been facing disruptions in its online passbook service across mediums, leaving users unable to access their Provident Fund (PF) account details.
EPFO servers may be under maintenance or experiencing heavy traffic. This is one of the most common reasons why the passbook service fails to respond or load. Also the UMANG app may have a bug or glitch which could be causing the outage.
Visitors to the EPFO's passbook portal on the UMANG app encountered the following message:
The UMANG app currently displays the following error message to users attempting to access the EPFO passbook:
"We regret for the inconvenience caused as facing some technical issues from the department end. Please, try after sometime."
"Due to Network failure the Member Passbook facility is currently unavailable. The same will be available shortly. Inconvenience is regretted."
This message, shown directly on the EPFO website, indicates a temporary outage caused by a network failure on EPFO's servers, making the passbook facility inaccessible for a period.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has not yet credited the interest amount for FY25 to member accounts, despite announcing the annual interest rate of 8.25%.
This is part of the usual processing lag that follows interest rate declaration each year. The credit is expected in the coming months, subject to internal calculations and coordination with financial institutions.

If you're unable to access your EPFO passbook through the UMANG app, it’s likely due to server-side issues, technical glitches, or maintenance activities. There is no official timeline yet announced as to when the EPFO Passbook issue will get resolved. Until then, users can check the EPFO website regularly for any updates.
