Samco Mutual Fund has introduced a new scheme, the Samco Large & Mid Cap Fund. The New Fund Offer (NFO) will open for subscription on June 5, 2025, and close on June 19, 2025.

Investment Approach

The fund will follow an actively managed strategy using Samco’s proprietary C.A.R.E. Momentum framework. This stands for Cross-sectional, Absolute, Revenue, and Earnings Momentum. The method focuses on identifying stocks that are performing well in both price and business fundamentals.

Allocation Structure

The portfolio will consist of companies from the top 250 listed firms by market capitalisation. In line with SEBI’s category requirement, at least 35% will be allocated to large-cap stocks and another 35% to mid-cap stocks. The remaining portion can be allocated flexibly.

Risk Management

Alongside equity selection, the fund will also make use of tactical hedging and derivative strategies. These are intended to help manage portfolio risks and respond to changing market conditions.

Fund Management

The scheme will be managed by Nirali Bhansali, Umeshkumar Mehta, and Dhawal G. Dhanani. It will be benchmarked against the Nifty LargeMidcap 250 Total Returns Index (TRI). Investors can start with a lump sum of ₹5,000. SIPs can begin from ₹500 per month, with a minimum of 12 instalments.

Conclusion

The Samco Large & Mid Cap Fund offers a structured approach based on real-time performance indicators. With a focus on both large and mid-sized companies, the fund fits within the SEBI-defined category and offers a set entry window during the NFO period.
