Infosys, India's second-largest IT services firm, reported a significant increase in its generative AI (Gen AI) initiatives during FY25. The company completed over 400 Gen AI projects, marking a 75% rise from the previous year. These projects were delivered through Infosys Topaz, the company's suite of generative and agentic AI-powered services and solutions.

Development of Small Language Models

In addition to project expansion, Infosys developed four small language models (SLMs) tailored for specific sectors, including banking, IT operations, cybersecurity, and general enterprise applications. These SLMs aim to address industry-specific challenges and enhance operational efficiency.

Workforce Reskilling Initiatives

To support its AI-driven transformation, Infosys emphasised workforce reskilling. By the end of FY25, over 2,70,000 of its 3,20,000 employees were trained to be "AI-aware" through extensive digital reskilling programs. This initiative ensures that a significant portion of the workforce is equipped to work effectively with AI technologies.

Chairman's Perspective on Global Challenges

In the Annual Report, Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani highlighted the complexities of the current global landscape. He pointed out that factors such as geopolitical tensions, shifting trade dynamics, and the rapid evolution of AI technologies are creating unprecedented uncertainties for businesses. Nilekani emphasised the need for companies to modernise legacy systems and develop robust data architectures to effectively leverage AI.

Infosys Share Price Performance

On June 3, 2025, Infosys share price (NSE: INFY) opened at ₹1,559.00, up from its previous close of ₹1,553.80. At 9:27 AM, the share price of Infosys was trading at ₹1,551.30, down by 0.16% on the NSE.
