The Byju’s learning app has been removed from the Google Play Store due to non-payment of dues to Amazon Web Services (AWS), according to news reports. AWS has been supporting the backend services of the app and has reportedly been trying to resolve payment issues with Think and Learn Pvt. Ltd., the parent company of Byjus.
The delisted Android app remains available for download on Apple’s App Store. It includes content for students in Classes 4 to 12 across subjects like maths, physics, chemistry, biology, and social science, and also provides preparatory material for exams like JEE, NEET, and IAS.
While the main learning app has been pulled, other Byju’s products, including Byju’s Premium Learning App and Byju’s Exam Prep, are still live on Google Play. These apps are being handled by different vendors and are not currently impacted by the issue with AWS.
Byju’s operations are now being managed by an Insolvency Resolution Professional (IRP), Shailendra Ajmera, as part of an ongoing insolvency process initiated by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). The process began after petitions from multiple investors, including Glas Trust Company.
