Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) is a government scheme that provides financial support to eligible land-holding farmers’ families in India. The scheme helps farmers meet agricultural and household needs through direct income support.

Farmers who meet the eligibility conditions can complete PM Kisan registration through online or offline modes. Having the required documents ready is important to ensure smooth registration and timely inclusion under the scheme.

Key Takeaways

  • PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana provides ₹6,000 annual financial support to eligible land-holding farmers’ families in India.
  • Unique Farmer ID and eKYC are now mandatory for receiving instalments in 2026.
  • PM Kisan registration can be completed through online or offline modes using the mandatory documents.
  • Proper registration helps ensure timely inclusion and uninterrupted receipt of scheme benefits.

Documents Required for PM-Kisan Registration

The documents for PM Kisan registration are mentioned below:

  • Aadhaar card: It is mandatory for identity verification and e‑KYC; OTP‑based or biometric e‑KYC must be completed.
  • Bank account details: The account number and IFSC of an active savings account, preferably Aadhaar‑linked, for DBT credit.

  • Mobile number: It is mandatory to have anAadhaar‑linked mobile number for OTP verification during online registration and e‑KYC, and for receiving SMS alerts.

It is necessary that all the documents needed for PM-Kisan registration are legally valid and up-to-date. If any document is later found to be forged or legally invalid, it can lead to cancellation or rejection of the scheme benefit and penal action.

In case a farmer finds that any of the documents are missing or that he or she has not applied for any of the documents, he or she must prioritise applying for such a document before applying for the scheme.
