At 10:30 am, the BSE Sensex surged 65%, reaching a level of 74,209. The Nifty 50 index is up 0.44% to the 22,520 level. On the Sensex, IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the top gainers, whereas Wipro Ltd, ITC Ltd and HCL Technologies were among the market draggers.

SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd

Recording a significant 33-fold surge in trading volume, the shares witnessed a notable climb of around 3% today. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd is a life insurance provider offering individual and group plans, including participating and non-participating options, covering protection, pensions, savings, and more, through a joint venture between India’s State Bank of India and French financial institution BNP Paribas Cardif.

Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd

Witnessing a substantial 8-fold surge in trading volume, the shares surged 2%, reaching an intraday high of Rs 570.15 on the BSE. Ujjivan Financial Services was registered with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as NBFC-MFI under Non-Banking Financial Company Micro Finance Institutions (NBFC-MFIs) directions on September 05, 2013. The company received approval from the RBI to set up a small finance bank. The bank has 65 lakh customers and operates 575 branches spread across 248 districts and 24 states and union territories in India.

Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd

Experiencing a remarkable surge in trading volume of 7 times, the shares surged 5% lower circuit to Rs 245.35 per share on the BSE from its previous closing of Rs 258.25. The company manufactures fixed-speed and variable-speed fluid couplings. Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd, a leading Indian clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, focuses on R&D of innovative drugs in oncology, neurology and immunology, and earns revenue through licensing fees, royalties and R&D services.

Supreme Industries Ltd

Experiencing an impressive 6-fold surge in trading volume, the shares surged over 7% today. Supreme Industries Limited is India’s leading plastics product manufacturer, offering a wide and comprehensive range of plastic products in India. The company operates in various product categories viz. plastic piping systems, cross laminated films & products, protective packaging products, industrial moulded components, moulded furniture, storage & material handling products, performance packaging films and composite LPG cylinders.
