After initially trading with slight losses today, Indian benchmark indices later experienced a notable decline, attributed to losses in the FMCG, consumer durables, metals, and banking sectors. The broader indices were facing challenges in gathering momentum.

At 10:00 am, the BSE Sensex declined 0.48% reaching a level of 74,683. The Nifty 50 index fell 0.43% to the 22,655 level. On the Sensex, NTPC Ltd, Tata Motors and Nestle India were among the top gainers, whereas JSW Steel, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries and Asian Paints were among the market draggers.

Some of the noteworthy volume movers are as follows:

  1. Metropolis Healthcare Lt

    Metropolis Healthcare Ltd saw a fivefold surge in trading volume, resulting in a more than 7% gain in its share price, reaching a 52-week high of Rs 1,935 per share on the BSE. The company stands as a leading player in the Indian diagnostics sector, operating a network of diagnostic centres spanning India, South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

  2. Cello World Ltd

    Cello World Ltd experienced a significant increase in trading volume, leading to a decline of over 1% in its shares, which reached an intraday low of Rs 822.65 per share on the BSE. As a leading Indian consumer product company, Cello World Ltd primarily specializes in writing instruments and stationery, moulded furniture, consumer housewares, and related products. The brand offers a range of drinkware like water bottles, flasks, tea sets, and coffee mugs, as well as dinnerware such as opalware and stainless-steel sets, catering to diverse dining experiences.

  3. Newtime Infrastructure Ltd

    Shares of Newtime Infrastructure Ltd, with a threefold surge in trading volume, were locked at a 5% upper circuit, hitting a 52-week high of Rs 51.24 per share on the BSE. The company is engaged in real estate development with a pan-India presence and operations spanning all key segments of the Indian real estate industry, namely residential, commercial, and retail sectors.
