Tata Elxsi Collaborated With TPCDT To Strengthen Neurodiversity Platform

On April 29, 2024, Tata Elxsi, a global leader in design and technology services, entered into a partnership with Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) to advance the “Pay Autention” initiative. Under the partnership, TPCDT plans to accelerate the development of the India Neurodiversity Platform by using Tata Elxsi’s innovative digital therapeutics (DTx) solution, TEcare.

The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID) and the Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) collaborated to create this physical platform, which is intended to support people with neurodiversity issues, especially autistic children. It will transform neurodiversity screening, diagnosis, disease management, and special needs care.

In order to pilot-test and introduce the Neurodiversity Platform, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NIEPID. This platform, which was unveiled at the National Purple Fest in Rashtrapati Bhawan, Delhi, acts as an integrated centre for neurodiversity assistance throughout the country.

The Pay Autention programme brings together medical facilities, expert networks, families, and technology to bridge the knowledge and accessibility gaps. With services like training films and video consultations about neurodevelopmental problems, in addition to screening, diagnosis, and disease treatment, the Phygital platform improves the intelligence of the entire effort. It also facilitates the integration of external programmes with government programmes like Ayushman Bharat.

“Recognising the significant impact of Autism Spectrum Disorder, affecting 1 in 100 children, the Pay Autention initiative addresses the critical need for a comprehensive support network. The India Neurodiversity Platform signifies a substantial advancement in efforts to narrow access disparities and cultivate supportive environments for everyone. In line with its commitment to innovation and social responsibility, Tata Elxsi played a pivotal role in the development of this platform,” said Mr Himal Tewari, CHRO, and Chief – CSR & Sustainability, Tata Power.

“The TEcare application is designed to offer a user-centric approach, engaging various personas including Parents, Care Providers (such as Anganwadi workers, School Teachers, and Volunteers), and Medical Professionals (including Doctors and Therapists). The application features a dynamic assessment and reporting system, as well as an advanced assessment mechanism encompassing a Development Milestone Assessment for screening children with special needs,” said Mani Gupta – Delivery Head of Healthcare and Lifesciences at Tata Elxsi.
