On April 24, 2024, National Aluminium Co. Ltd informed the stock exchanges that the company’s Joint Venture company, Khanij Bidesh India Limited (KABIL), had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI).

Khanij Bidesh India Limited signed the MoU with CSIR-NGRI to foster a long-term

collaboration in the field of geophysical investigations to strengthen its ongoing projects and

activities in critical and strategic minerals.

National Aluminium Co. Ltd further added that this collaboration will focus on Geochemical, Geological and Geophysical surveys, interpretation and modelling, data analysis, technical support, scientific knowledge sharing and advisory services.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Shri Sadashiv Samantaray, Director (Commercial), NALCO and CEO, KABIL and Dr Prakash Kumar, Director, CSIR-NGRI, in the presence of Shri Sridhar Patra, CMD, NALCO and Chairman, KABIL, at NALCO Corporate Office in Bhubaneswar.

Commenting on the collaboration, the CMD of National Aluminium Co. Ltd and the Chairman of Khanij Bidesh India Limited, Shri Sridhar Patra, said that this partnership will pave the way for driving innovation and actionable insights towards the ongoing projects at Khanij Bidesh India Limited.

Khanij Bidesh India Limited is a joint venture company of three Indian public sector undertakings, which include National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) and Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL). This joint venture company is under the backing of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
