The company has teamed up with IDEMIA Secure Transactions to announce a significant shift from using virgin plastic to recycled PVC for SIM cards. Airtel’s adoption of recycled plastic SIM cards marks a pioneering initiative in India’s telecom industry. By making this transition, Airtel aims to prevent the generation of over 165 tonnes of virgin plastic and reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 690 tonnes annually.
