Airtel Achieves 0.6M 5G Users in Himachal Pradesh and 1.5M in Haryana

On May 7, 2024, Bharti Airtel informed the stock exchanges that the company has 0.6 million customers availing 5G services in Himachal Pradesh. The company has successfully completed the deployment of 5G service across all cities and districts in Himachal Pradesh.

Airtel has experienced a notable surge in 5G user numbers over the last 6 months in Himachal Pradesh. The company’s extensive network expansion has effectively covered the entire state, making it easier for customers to adopt 5G. From Shimla’s iconic architectural landmarks to the stunning valleys of tourist destinations like Spiti Valley, Dalhousie, and Manali, Airtel remains committed to completing its rollout across Himachal Pradesh.

The company stated that the quick deployment and adoption of 5G in India is due to multiple factors, such as accelerated 5G rollout, increasing availability of 5G devices and rapid network enhancement. To make affordable devices available to users, Airtel also collaborated with Poco to provide sub10K 5G smartphones, which helped to grow its overall 5G user base in the country. Retail expansion in the region to increase the physical format of stores has further augmented consumer connection to help customers upgrade conveniently to 5G service.

In the same filing, the company added that it has about 1.5 million customers enjoying 5G services in Haryana.

Earlier this month, Airtel announced that it had successfully deployed 5G service across all cities and districts in Maharashtra, excluding Mumbai. The company stated that it has 5.2 million customers enjoying their 5G service in the state of Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai).

On May 7, 2024, the share price of Bharti Airtel Ltd opened at ₹1,286.35, touching the day’s high at ₹1,288.45, as of 12:46 PM on the NSE.
