Aether Industries Achieved Milestone With Operations At its Pilot Plant

Novoloop, a plastic circular economy technology company, has achieved a significant milestone in its mission to revolutionise plastic recycling. They proudly announce the successful startup and transition to continuous operations at their pilot plant in Surat, India. This accomplishment, achieved in collaboration with Aether Industries Limited, a prominent publicly-listed speciality chemicals manufacturer, marks a critical step towards creating a more sustainable future for plastic.

The journey began in January 2024 with the groundbreaking ceremony for the pilot plant in Surat. Construction proceeded at an impressive pace, culminating in completion by March 2024. Following rigorous equipment testing and solvent runs, the plant has now successfully transitioned from batch reactions to a fully integrated and automated operation. This signifies a significant breakthrough, validating the efficacy of Novoloop’s groundbreaking Lifecycling™ technology at an industrial scale.

The main goals of the pilot plant are to produce high-purity products, validate the functioning of critical equipment in an industrial setting, and show how the integrated process can be operated safely and dependably. Additionally, the facility offers a platform for creating standards for commercial operations and training staff. Ton-scale samples will be produced by the plant in order to fulfil off-take agreements with early clients.

The release further stated that Aether’s operational know-how is a valuable asset that gives hope for future, larger-scale partnerships between the two businesses. Plans are currently in place at Novoloop to increase the pilot capacity to a total of 70 metric tonnes per year demonstration plant scale.
