Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) has been in focus on Monday. On May 12, 2025, MCX share price opened at ₹5,924.50, up from its previous close of ₹5,670.50. At 11:42 AM, the share price of MCX was trading at ₹6,116.50, up by 7.87% on the NSE. As of the same time, the stock price hit its day’s high at ₹6,134.00. The market cap of the company was ₹31,193.15 crore.
The rise in share price came after the announcement of MCX’s Q4 results on May 8. For the quarter ended March 31, 2025, the company reported a total income of ₹320.49 crore, marking an increase of approximately 61% from ₹199.45 crore in the same quarter last year.
Operating income stood at ₹291.33 crore, rising from ₹181.14 crore in the previous corresponding quarter. EBITDA also saw significant growth from ₹120.33 crore, and the company reported an EBITDA margin of around 59%. The profit after tax (PAT) margin stood at approximately 42%. Net profit for the quarter came in at ₹135.46 crore, up from ₹87.87 crore year-on-year.
For the full financial year FY24-25, MCX posted impressive growth numbers. Total income rose to ₹1,208.86 crore, up by around ₹450 crore or 59% compared to the previous year. EBITDA for the year was ₹761.51 crore, marking a sharp rise of 445% from ₹139.70 crore in FY24. Net profit also jumped significantly to ₹560.04 crore, a steep increase of 574% from ₹83.11 crore in the preceding fiscal.
In addition to its financials, MCX also announced a final dividend of ₹30 per equity share (face value of ₹10) for the year ended March 31, 2025. This dividend proposal is subject to shareholder approval in the company’s upcoming 23rd Annual General Meeting.
Post the announcement of results, MCX shares were in focus on May 9, 2025, when the stock opened at ₹5,820.00, down from its previous close of ₹6,004.50 touched an intraday low of ₹5,600.00, and eventually closed at ₹5,670.50.
