Nifty Small Cap 100 Trades Slightly Lower at 17,545; Neuland, IIFL and Hindustan Copper Gain

As of 13:03 IST on September 29, 2025, the Nifty SMLCAP 100 index stood at 17,545.45, down 15.45 points (-0.09%) from the previous close of 17,560.90. The index opened at 17,633.45 and traded between an intraday low of 17,493.00 and a high of 17,736.65. The index’s 52-week range is 14,084.30 – 19,716.20, with a P/E of 31.41 and P/B of 3.90.

Top Gainers

Neuland Labs led the gainers, rising 3.51% to ₹14,456, followed by IIFL at ₹432.70 (+3.18%) and Hindustan Copper at ₹321.39 (+3.02%). Poonawalla Fincorp and Anantraj also posted strong gains of 2.87% and 2.73% respectively. These stocks saw active buying, boosting the index marginally.

Top Losers

FSL was the biggest loser, falling 4.75% to ₹334.90, while GRSE lost 3.81% to ₹2,512 and Zentec dropped 3.73% to ₹1,444. Kaynes and Datapattns also declined close to 3%, reflecting selling pressure in select mid and small-cap stocks.

Key Constituents by Weightage

Among other notable stocks, MCX gained 1.17% to ₹8,013, CDSL rose 0.75% to ₹1,478.70, and Laurus Labs added 0.62% to ₹837.50. Delhivery and Radico saw minor gains and losses, while Kaynes fell 2.94% to ₹7,125.50.

Over the past week, the Nifty SMLCAP 100 has declined by 3.96%, while it has gained 1.96% in the past month. In the last 3 months, the index fell 7.44%, but over 6 months, it showed a positive return of 9.13%. Year-to-date, the index is down 7.36%, and over the past year, it has dropped 8.71%. However, the long-term performance remains strong, with gains of 89.00% over three years and 200.80% over 5 years.

The 5-year performance shows strong long-term growth for the small-cap segment despite recent short-term volatility.
