Tata Power Reports ₹5,197 Crore Profit in Q4 FY25, Revenue Hits Record ₹64,502 Crore

Tata Power has reported a strong financial performance for Q4 and FY25, marking its 22nd consecutive quarter of profit growth. The company reported a 25% year-on-year (YoY) growth in Q4FY25 Profit After Tax (PAT) at ₹1,306 crore. For the full year FY25, PAT rose 26% YoY to ₹5,197 crore, and EBITDA grew 14% to ₹14,468 crore.

Record-Breaking Revenue and Profit

  • Annual revenue reached ₹64,502 crore, the highest ever for Tata Power, up 5% YoY.
  • Q4FY25 revenue was ₹17,238 crore, showing a 7% YoY increase.
  • EBITDA for Q4 was ₹3,829 crore, up 14% YoY.
  • PAT (before exceptional items) for FY25 was ₹5,197 crore, while the reported PAT stood at ₹4,775 crore.

Strong Performance Across Key Business Segments

Transmission & Distribution (T&D)

  • T&D PAT grew 50% in Q4FY25 to ₹616 crore.
  • Full-year PAT rose 37% compared to last year.

Odisha Discoms

  • Q4 PAT surged by 207% YoY to ₹275 crore.
  • FY25 PAT rose 43% YoY to ₹439 crore.

Renewables

  • Q4 PAT from the renewables business grew 62% to ₹469 crore.
  • Full-year PAT was ₹1,256 crore, up 48% YoY.

Rooftop Solar

  • Tata Power remained India’s #1 rooftop solar provider.
  • PAT crossed ₹100 crore in Q4 and reached ₹209 crore for the year.
  • Over 1.5 lakh rooftop solar installations completed, totalling 3 GW across 700+ cities.

Manufacturing (TP Solar)

  • TP Solar recorded a PAT of ₹422 crore in FY25.
  • Revenue recorded was ₹5,337 crore.
  • Produced 3,291 MW of modules and 846 MW of solar cells at its Tirunelveli plant.

Major Projects and Expansions

  • Tata Power commissioned 2.5 GW of renewable energy capacity in FY25.
  • Over 3 GW of new capacity is currently under development across multiple states.
  • Secured over 6,800 MW of grid connectivity and acquired 30,000+ acres of land for future projects.

Key Hydro Projects and Policy Support

  • Bhivpuri Pumped Hydro (1,000 MW) to begin construction in H1 FY26; target completion by Aug 2028.
  • Shirawata Hydro (1,800 MW) to start later in FY26, with expected completion by 2030.
  • Khorlochhu Hydro (600 MW) project underway in Bhutan, part of a larger 5 GW MoU.

Operational Highlights

  • Tata Power has supplied over 64.7 billion units of electricity through its generation assets.
  • Distributed around 47 billion units to consumers via its Discoms.

Strategic Partnerships and Investments

  • Signed multiple MoUs, including:
     
    • $4.25 billion in funding with ADB for clean energy.
    • 5,000 MW clean energy projects with the Assam government.
    • 7,000 MW renewable projects with Andhra Pradesh.
    • 200 MW firm-dispatch renewable energy PPA with NTPC.
    • Collaboration with ONGC for battery storage and grid solutions.
    • Partnership with Tata Motors for a 131 MW wind-solar hybrid project.

Dividend 

  • Board recommended a dividend of ₹2.25 per share for FY25 (vs ₹2.00 in FY24).
