Bajaj Chetak has achieved a major sales milestone in India by surpassing 5,00,000 units since its launch in January 2020. The e-scooter’s rising acceptance among customers has been supported by multiple variants and extensive service reach.
The company has recorded a total of 5,10,000 unit sales across India, showing an impressive demand surge. Notably, over 2,06,366 units, accounting for more than 40% of the total, were sold in the last 10 months. This highlights how the Chetak has increasingly become a preferred choice among electric scooter buyers.
The Chetak had reached the 1,00,000 sales mark in November 2023, around 46 months after its market debut. Production faced a temporary setback due to the rare earth magnet crisis, which briefly slowed down deliveries. Despite this, the scooter managed to dominate sales ahead of competitors like the TVS iQube.
One key reason behind the growth is Bajaj’s strategy of offering multiple variants to suit diverse customers. The Chetak is currently available in 4 variants: 3001, 3501, 3502, and 3503. Buyers can choose between 3 kWh and 3.5 kWh battery options. Bajaj has also built a widespread service and sales network with over 3,800 touchpoints across India, ensuring easy accessibility.

The Bajaj Chetak range starts at ₹99,900 (ex-showroom), giving it a competitive edge in India’s growing EV market. The combination of attractive pricing, improved production capacity, and expanding availability is expected to push sales momentum further in the coming months.
The Bajaj Chetak crossing the 5,00,000 sales mark underlines the growing adoption of electric two-wheelers in India. With enhanced production, multiple choices, and a strong service presence, the Chetak continues to strengthen its position as a leading electric scooter.
