Gautam Adani, Founder and Chairman of the Adani Group, stated that India stands at the intersection of clean energy and Artificial Intelligence (AI), two transformative forces shaping the global economy.
In a post on X, he emphasised that the Adani-Google partnership in Visakhapatnam (Vizag) aims to make India the world’s most sustainable intelligence hub, driving energy-efficient AI innovation.
Adani Enterprises, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, has collaborated with Google to establish India’s largest AI and data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The $15 billion investment, spread across 2026 to 2030, will create a gigawatt-scale, green energy-powered infrastructure dedicated to advanced AI workloads and innovation.
The Vizag AI hub will be a cornerstone of India’s digital transformation, integrating sustainability and technology.
Adani noted that the initiative marks a fundamental shift in how national infrastructure is envisioned, merging AI’s potential with India’s renewable power capabilities. The project will include investments in renewable power generation, energy storage, and transmission lines across Andhra Pradesh.
The aim is to ensure that AI-driven progress remains environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient, supporting India’s goal of becoming a global technology leader.

The AI campus will be developed with partners such as AdaniConneX and Airtel, ensuring robust connectivity through a subsea cable network. Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, highlighted that this partnership will enhance India’s readiness for the AI era by providing the infrastructure necessary for businesses, researchers, and innovators to scale AI applications securely and efficiently.
The collaboration also aims to bring Google’s technological expertise closer to Indian communities, fostering innovation at the grassroots level.
Adani reiterated that this partnership is more than an investment; it is a strategic step towards positioning India at the heart of the global AI economy. With clean energy as its foundation, the Vizag AI hub seeks to combine India’s digital aspirations with environmental responsibility, paving the way for the country to emerge as the world’s most sustainable intelligence hub.
