The Haryana government has announced a revision in wages for part-time and daily-wage employees working in various government departments, boards, corporations, and public sector undertakings. The new wage rates will come into effect from January 1, 2026, according to a notification issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi.
The state has been divided into three district categories based on socioeconomic and developmental factors. Each category will have separate wage rates for different worker levels. The classification aims to reflect local living conditions and cost differences across districts.
In Category-I districts, Level 1 workers will be paid ₹19,900 per month, which equals ₹765 per day or ₹96 per hour. Level 2 workers will receive ₹23,400 per month, and Level 3 workers will earn ₹24,100 per month. These districts include areas with higher living costs and greater economic activity.
For Category-II districts, wages will range from ₹17,550 per month for Level 1 workers to ₹21,700 per month for Level 3 workers. These rates are designed to align with moderate cost-of-living standards in these regions.
In Category-III districts, Level 1 workers will earn ₹16,250 per month, while Level 3 workers will receive up to ₹20,450 per month. This group covers areas with relatively lower economic activity and cost-of-living levels.
The revision follows multiple representations from departments and organisations seeking higher pay for contractual and daily-wage staff. The government reviewed these proposals before finalising the new structure.

The updated wage framework will apply from January 2026, standardising pay across different regions of Haryana while considering district-specific conditions. The revision covers all part-time and daily-wage workers under state-run entities.
