Godawari Power And Ispat Ltd (GPIL) announced the resumption of operations at its iron ore pellet plant in Siltara, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, after a month-long shutdown. The plant was temporarily closed following an incident during a routine inspection.

Operational Impact

The shutdown lasted 34 days and resulted in a production loss of approximately 150,000 metric tons of iron ore pellets. The plant has a total capacity of 1.8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), making the disruption significant for quarterly output.

Company’s Outlook

Despite the production setback, GPIL expressed confidence in meeting its annual targets. In its regulatory filing, the company stated:

“We are confident that we would be able to achieve the yearly production targets, as the Company will not be required to take any further maintenance shutdown during the current financial year.”

This indicates plans to compensate for lost output through operational adjustments in the coming months.
