Cognizant has started deploying Anthropic’s Large Language Model, Claude, across its internal systems and client platforms. The company plans to extend access to about 3.5 lakh employees across departments, including corporate, engineering, and delivery.

The model will be used for various business and technical functions as part of Cognizant’s wider use of AI tools.

Integration with Flowsource Platform

The company will integrate Claude and Claude Code, Anthropic’s desktop version for Mac and Windows, with its Flowsource platform. This platform supports coding, documentation, testing, and DevOps activities. The integration is to automate certain technical tasks and assist teams in routine development work.

Use of Anthropic’s Agent SDK

Cognizant will use Anthropic’s Agent SDK to create systems where multiple AI agents can operate together under human supervision. These will be used in workflows that need constant monitoring and approval, allowing controlled application of AI in work processes.

Software Engineering and Legacy Systems

Cognizant said it will use Claude’s code analysis features to review and reorganise legacy software systems. This will be combined with the company’s existing modernisation frameworks to help clients update older applications without making large-scale architectural changes.

The partnership will also cover industry-specific AI solutions, starting with financial services. These systems will use Anthropic’s model context protocols to work in regulated environments with compliance and oversight mechanisms built in.

Responsible Deployment

Cognizant stated that AI usage under this partnership will follow Model Context Protocol standards for safety and monitoring. The company also plans to conduct workshops and sessions with clients to identify practical use cases for AI deployment.

The announcement comes weeks after Anthropic opened its first India office in Bengaluru on October 8. A large share of Cognizant’s employees are based in India, where the initial phase of the rollout will take place.

Conclusion

The agreement expands Cognizant’s internal use of AI tools and aligns with Anthropic’s growing presence in India. The focus will be on large-scale and regulated enterprise applications.
