Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) remained in focus as investors gear up for an important corporate event. The defence PSU has notified that its 55th Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Friday, 26th September 2025 at 03:00 PM through Video Conferencing (VC) / Other Audio Visual Means (OAVM).
Alongside, the company has also finalised a crucial date for dividend eligibility, keeping investors’ attention firmly on its stock price movement.
As per the company’s filing, the Register of Members and Share Transfer Books will remain closed from 20th September 2025 to 26th September 2025 (both days inclusive) for the AGM and dividend purpose. The company has fixed Friday, 19th September 2025 as the Record Date for ₹0.65 dividend, to determine eligible shareholders for receiving the final dividend.
If approved by shareholders at the AGM, the dividend will be paid within 30 days from the date of declaration. This announcement has already drawn investor interest, with the stock price likely to remain active in the run-up to the dividend record date.
The record date is the cut off day set by a company to determine which shareholders are entitled to receive dividends or other benefits. Only investors whose names appear in the company’s records as shareholders on this date will be eligible. To ensure eligibility, investors must purchase the shares at least two working days before the record date, owing to the T+1 settlement cycle in Indian markets. This means that if you buy shares on the record date itself, you will not qualify for the dividend.
For retail investors, holding shares in a demat account makes this process seamless, as ownership is automatically recorded by the depositories.
Simply put, if you own Bharat Dynamics shares in your demat account before the record date, you will be entitled to receive the announced dividend once approved.
Apart from the dividend, investors will also keep an eye on the discussions and announcements made during the AGM on 26th September, which could provide further cues about the company’s growth trajectory in the defence sector.
