Amir Chand Jagdish Kumar Exports, a processor and exporter of basmati rice and other FMCG products, has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India to proceed with its initial public offering.

The company filed draft papers with the capital markets regulator on June 27 this year, and SEBI issued its observation letter on October 8. This letter allows the company to launch its IPO within the next one year.

IPO Structure and Fund Utilisation

The company plans to raise ₹550 crore through a fresh issue of shares. It may also consider raising up to ₹50 crore in a pre-IPO round, which will form part of the fresh issue.

Of the total proceeds, ₹500 crore will be used mainly for working capital requirements, while the remaining amount will be allocated for general corporate purposes. This utilisation strategy is expected to strengthen liquidity and support business expansion.

Business Overview and Brand Portfolio

Amir Chand Jagdish Kumar Exports markets rice products under its flagship brand Aeroplane, a well-known name in the basmati rice segment. The company also markets products under more than 40 sub-brands, including Aeroplane La-Taste, Aeroplane Classic, Ali Baba, World Cup, and Jet.

The company earns about 99% of its revenue from rice products. It operates through three integrated manufacturing, processing, and packaging facilities located in Punjab, Haryana, and New Delhi, catering to both domestic and international markets.

Industry Position and Competition

Amir Chand Jagdish Kumar Exports operates in the competitive rice and FMCG sector alongside established listed players such as LT Foods, KRBL, Chaman Lal Setia Exports, GRM Overseas, and Sarveshwar Foods.

The company’s strong brand recognition, diversified portfolio, and extensive distribution network position it well to capture growing demand for premium rice and packaged food products. Its export footprint further enhances its competitiveness in global markets.

Merchant Bankers and Regulatory Timeline

The IPO is being managed by Emkay Global Financial Services and Keynote Financial Services. With SEBI’s observation letter issued on October 8, the company is now authorised to launch its IPO within one year from that date.

The next steps will include finalising offer details, including the price band, lot size, and IPO opening and closing dates, before approaching the market.
