About Sinclairs Hotels
Sinclairs Hotel and Transportation (SHTL) was incorporated in the year 1971, as a Private limited company. This company is promoted by Sinclair Freight and Chartering Consultants (SFCC). SFCC was amalgamated with SHTL by virtue of a Kolkata High Court order. SHTL was converted into a public limited company in November 1981.
SHTL has two divisions the hotel division and the travel division. The company has three tourist hotels, at Siliguri, Darjeeling and Port Blair. The travel division of SHTL has opened a branch at Bombay and application has been made to IATA for accreditation.
In the year 1997-98, Benchmark Homes & Resorts Ltd. was amalgamated with the company.
The company's luxury resort at Chalsa Hill Top in the Dooars region, West Bengal commenced operations during the year 1999-2000. It has an unique Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Centre which provides specialised ayurvedic therapies.
